Donate Car to Teddy Bear Cops™ Car Donation Charity

Dear Executive Director,

Thank you very much for the dozens of teddy bears recently delivered to the Roanoke Police Department. We noted that they were of a nice size and suitable for both boys and girls. We not only place the bears into the patrol cars, but they are also available to our detectives, school officers, and even animal control officers. The animal control officers are usually first on the scene when a child has been bitten by a dog or a stray animal, and they have distributed the bears on a number of occasions.

Being a Community Policing agency means that our personnel are involved with the neighborhoods and the community at all levels. We know that building for the future involves devoting special attention to young people, which is why we devote the extra resources to programs such as DARE and School Resource Officers. If young people, even the little ones who are facing a crisis, can learn that police officers are there to help people then we have established a building block for the future of Roanoke.

Thanks again for your work. In a time of constricting municipal budgets, we greatly
