Today we received your donation of a box ofbeautiful teddy bears. In your letter, you asked that the stuffed animals be given to our officers so they could carry them in their vehicles and give to any children who may have been traumatized by an act or event in their lives.

The teddy bears were distributed to three areas within our division. Our juvenile officers, whose primary assignment is to handle abused children incidents, were given several of the teddy bears.
They were very excited to have these cuddly toys to give away. Several of the teddy bears were also given to our Crisis Response Team members, a group of volunteers who respond, at the request of our officers, to very traumatic incidents and assist with traumatized children or family members. Lastly, during roll calls all of our patrol officers were advised of your gift and the toys were made available for them to give to any children they might encounter during their daily shifts.

We are very grateful to organizations, such as yours, which give to the less fortunate. Your are right, your gift will not end world poverty, illiteracy, or crime, but I can assure you that each and every one of these teddy bears will bring comfort to every child who receives one.
