Dear Executive Director:

I want to thank you for the generous donation of "Teddy Bear Cops". It is only through the kindness of community members and organizations such as yours, that we are able to offer them to children who have suffered any sort of trauma where they have need of police personnel contact. The toys offer comfort and "break the ice", so to speak, in situations that may not be otherwise pleasant.

Our victim advocate also uses stuffed toys of this nature. She finds that having a soft, cuddly toy is of great comfort to victims and family members during the difficult times following a crime. She actually gives them, not only to children, but often times to adults as well. The recipients always seem grateful to receive one of the toys.

We are very pleased that you chose the Gainesville Police Department as one of the agencies to benefit from your program, and want you to know that we truly appreciate this gesture.
