Thank you for your letter, the "Teddy Bear Cops" and the confidence you have shown in the Fire Department's abilities.

We agree that the teddy bears you sent were an exceptional touch and, although they will not bring about world peace, they have the potential to make a traumatic situation less stressful. This particular program is not just one that is agreeable to the Chapel Hill Fire Department, but is one that is well respected and appreciated given the times that we have gone to the aid of citizens in tragedies that may leave us at a loss for words. The teddy bear program helps when no words are possible.

While this is a very special program, I wondered if you had teddy bears that resemble the Fire Department.

I hope that this program has received the appreciation it deserves from other agencies.
