Donate a Junk Car or Vehicle
What people consider as a junk car donation
Junk Car FAQs
1. What kind of junk cars do you pick up? Does mine qualify?
Every junk car donation is different, from the condition of the vehicle and its age to the location and Title status. Thus it is difficult to say exactly what vehicle is eligible or not without having all of the information. However you can rest assured that we pick up more junk cars than any other charity. So please don't feel discouraged to send in a donation form.
In some areas of the United States we have associations with actual salvage companies that will pickup almost any old car and we are expanding those areas. So if your car happens to be in any of our areas covered our salvage company then we can certainly pick up the vehicle no matter it’s condition as long as it has wheels all or most of it’s parts intact.
2. My car is in poor condition and doesn't run. Will you pick it up?
Possibly, most of the vehicles we pick up are non-running vehicles. Unless your vehicle is in an area covered by one of our salvage associates we would only want to pick up vehicles that are in such a condition that a good mechanic would purchase the vehicle for more than it would cost us to have it picked up and sold.
The best thing is to fill out the form with as much data concerning its running condition and body condition as possible so that we can give you a quick decision.
3. My vehicle was in an accident and is severely damaged. Would you pick it up?
In the case of heavily damaged vehicles, again, if it’s not in a salvage area the vehicle would have to be a newer vehicle. The best thing is to fill out the form with as much data concerning its damage and the extent of the damage as well as any engine damage as possible so that we can give you a quick decision.
Other Kinds of Junk Cars
What is a junk car?
A vehicle that either has little value or is no longer wanted or cared for and that is not running and basically is only good for parts or the value of the metal. These are often called salvaged vehicles.
Depending on the circumstance, many vehicles qualify as ‘junk cars'. Here are some of the possibilities:
- Cars that no longer run, start or drive.
- Heavily damaged vehicles.
- Vehicles that have had theft attempts on them.
- Abandoned vehicles.* (we cannot pickup un owned abandoned vehicles unless they have a title)
- Project cars.
- Older vehicle replaced by newer ones and are now just sitting.
- Stolen vehicles that have been recovered.
- Vandalized vehicles.
- Parts cars
- Cars that have been sitting for a long time
- If the car is at the point where it's repair would out weigh its auction value.
- If the vehicle is totally wrecked.
To summarize they are cars that are no longer being used and the solution is to either fix them up so they can be used again or dispose of them.
