Car Problems Have Changed
To assist our site visitors we have added this car troubleshooting section to help you locate the problem you are having and assist you in solving it.
As a small boy, back in the 40s, cars, trucks and even motorcycles were sturdy and stout pieces of machinery; and, by todays standards, incredibly simple technologically.
Well Made and Simple
A World War was raging during those years and American steel productivity was mainly used for war material. The few cars made during those wars years had less steel in them than vehicles made in the 30s but far more than the steel found in todays vehicles. Those old vehicles nevertheless were well made and as Ive said, simple.
Mechanics Dream
Under the hood, those old cars were a mechanics dream. Everything was easy to reach, take out and replace. If those old mechanics were ever given a glimpse under the hood of a modern vehicle, theyd probably have said, "Hell youd have to be a watch-maker to repair one of those."
Auto Repair Then and Now
Auto repair in the old days was a "mans job" and that man was usually the "man of the house." A man, by the way who probably had no formal automotive repair training.
Times Have Changed
Well, as they saying goes, "times have changed." Vehicle repair today is so complex the "man or lady of the house" is doing well if they recognize SOME of a vehicles trouble symptoms.
The Point...
And thats the point of all this, to help you to recognize vehicle symptoms.
Then you can take your vehicle to a highly trained mechanic and pay a lot of money for his services; but we need and love our cars, trucks, and motorcycles, dont we?
