Minneapolis Bear Donations
April 22, 2008
Minneapolis Red Lobster restaurants partnered with the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART) during February to collect teddy bears for local kids.
Firefighters and emergency services in Minneapolis carry bears in their vehicles to give children involved in fires or traumatic events such as car accidents. Kids can be quite scared when involved in these situations and the emergency personnel welcome the use of these bears to calm down the kids and give them something warm and cuddly they can hold on to.
The Red Lobster restaurants alone made a huge impact in the collection by donating over 200 bears! The photo shows firefighters from Firehouses 4 and 7 and Hennepin County Emergency Services receiving their incredible donations at the Depot Hotel downtown from Jennifer Johnston, Minneapolis conference Service Project Coordinator and Red Lobster Trainer, Curt Archambault, CHART President, John Alexander, CHART Board Member and Kelly Ames, Minneapolis Conference Director.

About Our Program
During emergency situations children are especially vulnerable. A simple cuddly little bear given to a child at times like this can have a marvelous and calming effect. There are police, ambulance and fire officials all over the country that have found this to be true and need and want more bears. We hope you will support the Teddy Bear Cops™ Program by donating your car or any vehicle.
